I have to say that last night's game was one that will stay with me for a long time. I did not know Chris but he obviously was a very special person who touched alot of lives. The ceremony for Chris was wonderful and I couldn't help but hope for his spirit to be with the Butler boys now and forever everytime they set foot on the home field. I was real torn on whose team I should be routing for to win this game and decided to just hope for a game that was one that would't be easy to forget for both sides. That's exactly what that game ended up and I think it was physically and emotionally draining for both teams but at the same time inspiring and a great tribute to Chris. God Bless to you Chris and the rest of the Butler team....---Bill Adams |

Chris is all that you mentioned and more and his accident is a loss that we may never understand until we meet with him again. Many of those who played soccer with him at Northeast and Butler have all come back into town and have been with Chris's family since shortly after lunch. I emailed Denise Watts at Mint Hill Middle earlier this morning so that she could pass the information along to the staff; Many of whom taught Chris at NE and Andrew at MHMS. I am not sure if you remember many of these young men (Butler Soccer players) have previously experienced a loss this tragic with the passing of their friend Andy Sept. 15 of 2005. I believe Andy played at Butler until his family moved to Cab. county and he changed schools. Ironically, Andy was on his was to a soccer game when he was killed in a car crash. Chris was headed home to work with his dad. Jonathan and Natalie Fowler are our neighbors (and my adopted children) and it is through them that Chris was brought into our life. He was a remarkable, kind, funny and giving young man. My thoughts are with you at this time as well. I know that you will miss his quiet ways and funny smile as much as the rest of us. My prayers are with all of those who were touched by this amazing guy!
